The Lake

The Lake of Lucerne which is also called "The lake of the four Cantons" offers many boat trips all over the lake. The most of the trips start in the city of Lucerne, just opposite the main train station.

The boats can either be used for public transport or for a sightseeing tour.  The tour takes you for a scenic 45 min ride. Totally worth it!

Feel like steering your own boat in the bay of Lucerne?

The pedalos can be hired just at the Schwanenplatz. During summer they cost about 30.- /h.

The SNG also provides motorized boats from 30 min up to an entire day.

Just be careful for the passing boats! ;-)

In summer temperatures around Lucerne can raise up to 37 degrees. Luckily there are several beautiful spots to enjoy a cool-down in the blue water of the lake. The spots are free of charge and even have infrastructure to play beach volleyball or football. Don't forget to bring along friends, music and cold drinks! There's a small kiosk with snacks and ice creams if desired.

Here is where to go:

You can easily get there on foot from the train station in 15 minutes.
